Le sigh.
I originally wrote these as a set of Facebook status updates, but figure I will post them here for a wider audience.
If you can’t figure out who the iPad is targeted at, or who it might become truly useful for, that’s fine! Keep buying your Macbooks and your iPhones. It’s not like those products are going anywhere. Consider that the range of opinions represented in the tech news...

Congratulations, Sandforce! Apparently your chip is bitchin’ fast. I like fast things.

I know that the whole world is united in helping Haiti recover from it’s recent disaster, but nothing quite drove it home for me like these photos, taken by a Continental pilot, of the tarmac at Haiti’s main airport. You can see airlines from all around the world, pitching in to drop stuff off and pick people up.
Pro tip
Out of black ink in your printer? No problem.
Turn all the text in (a copy of) your document light orange, and print. Take the paper and put it back into the printer in the correct orientation, then turn all the text deep blue, and print again. The result is a very dark green almost-black.
If the convergence on your printer isn’t perfect (which my $99 Photosmart surely isn’t), you...
Dear Apple,
You know you are my first choice. You know that working for you is my childhood dream (which you cruelly let me glimpse for an instant last year before snatching it away again), and you know who I’d choose in an instant if it came down to you and the big G.
But Apple, you have to know that Bing is a huge joke. I know it’s not bad! I know it’s based on lots of research and works...
The right music was on, the moment was pure - it was time to recreate Chuck’s season 2 yogurt shop at Red Mango.

I find it quite telling that, given a game that lets me drive literally anywhere in the world, I choose to go home and drive the same roads I always drive. Says something about people and the value of familiarity.

Confession: When I get homesick, I drive around the Bay Area in this.

Medical plus tablet computing?
A little obvious, so clearly I am far from the only one thinking it. However, with innovation and rapidity I think it’s possible to compete.
Existing medical information systems are a humongous mess so you would need something to cleanly and elegantly aggregate all of them to a simple touch UI. Might be hard as a third party, since certainly most vendors are...

Hello George Orwell.
Yikes that was quick. I’ve been on here longer and I don’t even think I have that many.
Every slip-up.
inkless-pen:
Every time I’m about to slip up, I tell myself - what’s the point of holding it up 90% of the time when the 10% you slip up will negate it all?
And with time, it always passes.
Theoretically one percentage goes up over time and the other goes down.
AT&T announces SDK for dumbphones →
Yes, very clever - instead of upgrading your network to handle the data load of smartphones, find a way to give the consumer the latest fad (apps) on a dumbphone that won’t generate as much traffic. Flock, sheeple, flock.
Bipolar ambigamy: On not admitting you're sending... →
midoriw:
I’m an ambigamist not just about embracing a partner but every aspect of life. I watch myself and everyone I know wrestle with the tension between open and closed, romance and skepticism, faith and reason, confidence and doubt, tenderness and protectiveness, hope and fear, transcendence and realism, generosity and caution, friendship and business. I don’t see any way out of it. I...
