I have a question.
It’s well known that the industry (for most any value of “the industry”) designs stuff in AutoCAD or VectorWorks. As far as I know neither of these apps run on Mac OS - so I must know, are Mac cases CADded under Windows?

The Curse of the Gifted →
The scale of the problems always increases to a point where your native talent alone doesn’t cut it any more. The smarter you are, the longer it takes to hit that crunch point — and the harder the adjustment when you finally do.

Help me decide
I have to drop my tax return in the mail sometime soon. I figured I’d offset the pain of that by dropping something else in the mail alongside it, something fun. Namely, I’d like to submit some of the recordings I’ve done for CNET’s Audiophiliac contest. Rules say I can send up to three CDs, each with a max of five minutes on them. As such, I need to pick my three best...

I am so restless
My screen(s, 2 x 1920x1080 if you’re keeping count) are filled with IM windows and emails about all the interesting things I will soon be participating in AND COULD BE DOING RIGHT NOW WERE IT NOT FOR SCHOOL. School is the ball and chain anchoring me to mediocrity, to stagnation, at the moment. Later today I will whip up a quick javascript countdown that shows the SECONDS ticking by until I...

In lieu of actual content
I decided it was time to change up the look of my blog a bit. I found this in Tumblr’s theme garden and liked it well enough. I don’t really have an eye for design so this was a purely subjective exercise. I like it, so there. All images should now also click through to high res versions of themselves. A checkbox I’ve been needing to check for a while.

Sorry about all the car pictures
In fact, sorry about all the reblogs in general lately (and contrasting lack of original content).  It seems they’re all I have time for at the moment, for a few reasons. I am working on a couple of projects: -Recording and then producing an album for one of the a cappella groups here on campus. Recording is mostly done, and then mastering/post-production begin… -Composing an...

This is my commute this summer →
Thanks to Google’s new bike directions. Seriously. Nine minutes, zero dollars in gas. Amazing.

nataleiigh: magicmolly: It’s crucial not to count your chickens when the temperature hits 60º in early March. There is always one last snow storm. March is the month for perverse weather, and this is a fact which East Coast natives know and California transplants always forget.

Nerd fail.
Today Valve officially announced that Steam and a number of Source-engine titles are coming to the Mac. Not only that, they said it would be ready in April. Like, in three weeks. My only question is: how did this completely blindside us? Porting a huge library games from Direct3D (which is Windows-only) to OpenGL (widely regarded as the inferior/less mature framework) represents probably four or...
