Another schoolyear
Not sure what I think of it yet, though if I had to sum it up in three words I would call it “not my best.”
Ah well - on to new challenges! I start my job at SandForce on Monday. I’m excited to feel useful, and capable, once more.

Also, I tweeted that I would be working for Sony Music and got this reply. Too cute :)
[/too awesome. Working for a company who is on top of their social media/marketing is a definite plus!]
Everyone working in NYC this summer - Get in touch!!
Hooray! Congratulations to Midori on her new job and her first step towards a completely new industry! Brave.
On the iPad
I’ve finally bought one, so you can go ahead and take it off the cool wall.
The games are great, videos look great, the web browser works really well, but the “killer feature” in my view is surprisingly basic: this device makes me love email. I never particularly disliked email, but this device and this interface make it feel useful and futuristic again.
The iPhone is too...
Two of the most famous products of Berkeley are LSD and Unix. I don’t think that...

Apparently there’s a Glee porno in the works. I’m not sure what to say.

Spending plan
Now that I’m done with my graphics project, I’m letting myself think about spending money for the first time in a long time.
While it’s true that I’m planning to save most of what I earn this summer so that I can potentially experience what it’s like to be in college without working at the same time, there are still a few things I would like to purchase:

A really fun blog →
If you’re a techie type like me, follow the progress of a jet pilot as Delta trains her to operate the A330.

The Tetris effect →
fuckyeahcomputerscience:
clee:
The Tetris effect occurs when an activity to which people devote sufficient time and attention begins to overshadow their thoughts, mental images, and dreams.
Computer programmers and developers sometimes have similar experiences, and report dreaming about code when they sleep at night, and return to work the next day feeling like they had never left.
Ever wonder why...
Every Apple screenshot shows the time as 9:41 or 9:42?
Via TUAW:
“We design the keynotes so that the big reveal of the product happens around 40 minutes into the presentation,” (Scott) Forstall revealed. “When the big image of the product appears on screen, we want the time shown to be close to the actual time on the audience’s watches. But we know we won’t hit 40...
It worked!
iPhone OS 4 has enabled me to guilt myself out of checking Twitter etc nearly as often as I used to. I put all my social media apps in a folder called “Social”.
Now, among us embedded firmware developer people, “social media” is a dirty word because it identifies the category of software that cross-bred two previously insignificant categories of entry-level computer...

Yay! How nice
Admittedly, I am not feeling too good about my personal creative apparatus or professional status at the moment - sort of feels like both are on hiatus and I’m just stuck in a grind, but more on that later.
Right now I’d like to share a really nice recommendation that one of my Kalexo co-workers wrote for me as I’m preparing to leave Kalexo and head on to Sandforce. Reading this...
