Part 1:

On the way home from the airport last night, I asked my my mom to get off one exit early so we could swing by the Apple campus and see the stuff people had left in memory of Steve Jobs.

Even late at night, there were lots of people there, some of whom had walked from nearby homes but many of whom had driven there, and were quietly paying their respects. One Indian family was in traditional dress, as though they were attending a funeral. 

It’s not clear what Apple is going to do with all of the stuff - the flowers and apples will obviously go bad, but some people made really elaborate and quite permanent things, so I hope they don’t just throw them away - but I’m glad that, for now, they’re allowing people onto the far corner of their campus to pay their respects.
