A lesson I’ve learned a thousand times over

When Apple does something retarded, immediately call Applecare and ask to speak to Customer Relations. I suspect they can see all kinds of information on you that other parts of Apple can’t (how many Macs you’ve bought, how many times those Macs broke, when they were repaired/replaced), so they know when they’re dealing with a long-time loyal Apple customer and know not to piss you off.
